    Dr. Woodson does not recommend removing your mole at home. If the mole contains skin cancer and is not properly removed, the skin cancer can continue to grow. Removing moles requires very sharp surgical blades. Without the proper technique and equipment, you may cause damage to your skin, including a permanent scar, or the area may become infected.

  • What types of mole removal procedures does Dr. Linda Woodson perform?

In general, she uses one of three methods -- surgical excision and laser removal. For surgical excision, Dr. Woodson makes an incision around the mole to remove it from your skin.
